With an impressive one over-round score of 74, a Gourock man scooped the trophy at the annual Gillen Open at Gourock Golf Club.

The competition, held on June 1, sees members of courses from all over Scotland pitch their skills against each other on Gourock's fairways and greens.

Despite initial pressure from Matthew Chamberlain and Callum Watters, Robert Clark maintained his stride, winning the first major gross competition of the season.

Tensions ran high in the competition's nett section, where fellow Gourock player Robert Davis shone with a gross score of 76, his personal best.

His performance culminated in a nett 66, just enough to outdo Robert McAdam and secure the nett trophy.

Hosted under clear skies and on a well-maintained course, the competition saw golfers putting their best foot forward.
