LOCAL ROUNDUP: BHRA boys takes down Watseka

Jan. 25—WATSEKA — After winning the Vermilion County Tournament on Saturday, the Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin boys basketball team went outside the county on Tuesday.

The Blue Devils hit the road to face Watseka and was able to get a 70-52 win.

Keison Peoples had 28 points to lead BHRA, while Chaz Dubois had 16, Ayden Ingram and Caden Keleminic each had nine and Micah Stanford added six.

Evan LaBelle led the Warriors with 15 points, while Myles Lynch had 13 and Payton Schamburg added 11.

The Blue Devils will face Hoopeston Area on Friday.

GEORGETOWN — The Oakwood boys basketball team was able to get the win on the road with a 58-20 victory over Georgetown-Ridge Farm on Tuesday.

Carsen Dudley had 17 points to lead the Comets, while Alec Harrison had 14, Jackson Dudley had 13 and Alex Wallace added five.

A'John Watson led the Buffaloes with nine points while Deven Vice had four and Jase Latoz added three.

GEORGETOWN — The Buffaloes outscored the Cardinals 27-14 in the second and third quarters to get the win in a game that was made up from Monday.

Kendall Roberts had 21 points to lead Georgetown-Ridge Farm, while Madi Spesard had seven and Addi Spesard added five.

Adalyn Miller had 11 points to lead the Cardinals, while Olivia Radke and Addison Phipps each had six points.

The Buffaloes will face Schlarman Academy today.

BISMARCK — The Cornjerkers were able to get past the Blue Devils in another game that was made up from Monday.

Brylie Cox had 19 points and Claire Dixon added 15 for Hoopeston Area, who will play Iroquois West today. The Blue Devils will play Armstrong-Potomac today.

WOMEN'S COLLEGE BASKETBALL

Lake Land 83, DACC 56

DANVILLE — The Lady Jaguars were up 36-35 at halftime, but was outscored 48-20 in the second half against the Lakers.

Keiara Gregory had 23 points to lead Danville Area Community College, while Wariya Alhassan had 12 points and nine rebounds and Jayla Greer had 10.

Kaylee Niebrugge had 14 points to lead Lake Land, while Audri Spencer had 13 and Armstrong-Potomac grad Kyla Bullington had three points.

The Lady Jaguars will face John Wood Community College on Saturday.
