LOCAL ROUNDUP: Salt Fork regional game moved

Feb. 17—CATLIN — The Salt Fork girls basketball team had to wait an extra day for a chance for a regional crown.

Weather during the day on Friday moved the IHSA Class 1A regional title game between the Storm and Arcola at Chrisman High School to today at 10:30 a.m.

Along with the girls game, all the action that was scheduled in Indiana was postponed with Seeger's game with Parke Heritage moved to today at 4 p.m. central time and the North Vermillion vs. Fountain Central game moved to Tuesday.

WOMEN'S COLLEGE BASKETBALL

Parkland 68, DACC 46

DANVILLE — The rematch between the Danville Area Community College and the Parkland College women's basketball teams on Wednesday was like the first meeting of the season.

The Cobras won the first game 71-49 in January and were able to beat the Lady Jaguars 68-46.

Rylee Dowers led the Lady Jaguars with 13 points, while Jayla Greer had 10 points and four steals, Wariya Alhassan had eight points, five rebounds and three steals and Keiara Gregory had seven points and five rebounds and two assists.

Rylea Johnson had 17 points to lead the Cobras, while Megan Janson had 15 points, Alyssa Cole had 14 points and 10 rebounds, Abby Shepard had 10 points and Siarah Brown and Lucy Fearday each had six points.

The Lady Jaguars will try to regroup on Saturday, when they host Lewis & Clark at Mary Miller Gym.

Illinois 86, Penn State 71

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Five Illini were able to go over double figures as they beat the Nittany Lions on Thursday.

Adalia McKenzie had a team-high 18 points for Illinois, while Kendall Bostic had 17 points and 10 rebounds, Makira Cook had 16 points, Genesis Bryant had 13 points with five assists, Gretchen Dolan had 11 points and Camille Hobby had nine points with six rebounds.

The Illini will return home on Monday to host Indiana in a nationally-televised game on FOX at 1 p.m.
