ITV2 has announced plans for a brand new matchmaking show that will encourage hopeful singles "to delete the apps" and find love in person.

The channel, which is perhaps best known for being the home to dating series Love Island, is teaming up with 12 Yard Productions (Eggheads, Coach Trip) for the project.

Taking inspiration from Netherlands production Let Love Rule, the programme – titled The Cabins – will pair up participants who'll then move in with one another, as they enjoy their very first date in a luxurious, UK-based log chalet, complete with hot tub.

After 24 hours spent together, each member of the couple has to decide whether to enjoy more time together or call it a day and walk away.

Casting is currently underway and keen applicants should email casting@12yard.com.

"This is a fantastic new format which challenges young people to delete the apps and attempt to date face-to-face, with no distractions," said Paul Mortimer, who's ITV's head of digital channels and acquisitions.

"We're thrilled to be bringing this show to ITV2 viewers who will have front row seats, eavesdropping on our couples as they attempt to find true love."

"We are delighted ITV2 have commissioned the series and can't wait to get into full production on what we hope will be a big hit with this exciting new twist on the reality dating format," Michael Mannes, 12 Yard's managing director, added.
