Luis Suarez makes exciting Darwin Nunez prediction after questions he asked Liverpool ace

Luis Suárez has sent a clear message to Liverpool about Darwin Núñez ahead of the Copa America with Uruguay. The veteran striker has revealed the small details behind the scenes that will eventually make Núñez one of the 'best in the world' up front.

The tournament will start on June 21, as Alexis Mac Allister and his Argentina teammates look to defend the title they won back in 2021. Uruguay will face Panama in the first fixture of Group C, which also includes USA and Bolivia, on June 24.

Núñez was in fine form before the tournament began after netting a quick-fire hat-trick against Mexico earlier in June. The Liverpool ace opened the scoring in the opening stages of the game before grabbing his second and third before the clock had even hit the 50th minute.

It was the type of ruthless display that Liverpool fans are so desperate to see from their forward, who was signed from Benfica for $91m (€85m/€71m) back in 2022. With 11 goals and eight assists across his 22 starts in the Premier League season, he showed what he was capable of in flashes, although Suárez is tipping him to eventually become 'one of the best in the world' due to one small detail he has noticed.

"When Darwin comes, he asks me things, at the time yes, I was the starter, Edi (Cavani) was the starter, but he always came, asked, wanted to learn things and that is spectacular," Suarez said AUF TV (as transcribed by Tribal Football). "He, with the humility that he is, a very good kid, said 'No, Luis, you're the number nine, I'm going to respect you when you're not there if I'm going to grab (the number nine shirt)'.

"Those are details that demonstrate the greatness and humility of a player who is going to be one of the best, if not one of the best in the world today. Having him in front of me seeing how he trains, how he plays each game, how can I not stop to applaud him and celebrate?"

Liverpool.com says: Linking up with Suárez on international duty will be good for Núñez, who will likely idolize the former Liverpool man. Suárez can provide crucial advice and mentor his compatriot, which will hopefully see him return to the Reds with more confidence in front of goal.
