Chelsea continue their Champions League title defence against Malmo tonight.

In the earlier of the two European kick-off times, Thomas Tuchel’s side will square off against their Swedish opposition from 5.45pm GMT and, while the reverse fixture proved to be a routine win for Chelsea, go into the tie needing three points.

Indeed, Zenit St Petersburg are only three points behind them heading into round three in the group stages and, although they face a tricky tie away at leaders Juventus (albeit an out-of-form form one), Tuchel could certainly do with the breathing space a win would provide.

Date, kick-off time and venue

Malmo vs Chelsea is scheduled for a 5.45pm GMT kick-off tonight - Tuesday, November 2, 2021 - at the Eleda Stadium in Malmo.

Mateo Kovacic recently picked up a hamstring injury and joins Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku on the sidelines.

Christian Pulisic could play some part after recovering from an ankle injury, or else be held back with Burnley in mind on Saturday.

Malmo XI: Dahlin; Ahmedhodzic, Nielsen, Brorsson; Berget, Pena, Innocent; , Nanasi, Rieks; Rakip, Colak.

Malmo vs Chelsea prediction

Having run out 4-0 winners at Stamford Bridge last month, it would be incredibly unlikely to see Chelsea lose this.

While the makeshift frontline Tuchel has been forced to deploy recently hasn’t always looked entirely convincing, the likes of Ben Chilwell and Reece James have proved palpable goal threats of late, allowing Chelsea to navigate what could have been a difficult period without both Werner and Lukaku.

Chelsea to win 2-0.
