Dominant Manchester City will look to move one step closer to wrapping up the Premier League title when they host Leeds United in today’s lunchtime kick-off.

Pep Guardiola’s side moved 17 points clear at the summit with a comfortable 2-0 win over third-placed Leicester last weekend - with nearest challengers Manchester United later whittling that deficit back to 14 - and now require only 11 from their final seven matches to seal glory.

That latest top-flight win was followed by a 2-1 triumph over Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie, while City also have an FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea on the horizon as well the Carabao Cup Final against Tottenham.

Looking to delay the title procession this weekend is a Leeds team that briefly moved into the top half of the table with a hard-fought 2-1 Yorkshire derby win over rock-bottom Sheffield United after the international break.

While subsequent results pushed them back down to 11th, successive wins have left a top-10 finish looking a very attainable goal indeed for Marcelo Bielsa’s entertaining side in their first campaign back at this level following a 16-year exile.

Man City vs Leeds team news

City’s incredible run has been immeasurably boosted by some sustained good fortune on the injury front, with no new setbacks expected again following the win over Dortmund.

Meanwhile, Leeds are without Manchester City loanee Jack Harrison, with the winger ineligible to face his parent club.

Adam Forshaw - who has not played in 18 months - is still on the comeback trail following serious hip issues.

Man City vs Leeds prediction

Picking against this City team at any time is a fool’s errand, but seems particularly silly when they are so close to title glory and at home after reeling off six straight wins across all competitions in the aftermath of their Manchester derby defeat on March 7.

Leeds are notably unpredictable and we’ve seen them cause major problems for big teams before on several occasions, but this seems unlikely to be one of those afternoons.

3-1 home win.
