A man who was caught with a loaded gun stuffed down his pants has been jailed.

Kevin Harrison, 40, had put the gun to a friend’s head during a heated row at his flat in Birmingham in February.

He then told him “I’ll shoot you”, West Midlands Police said.

The 54-year-old friend managed to escape and raise the alarm.

When officers arrived they found Harrison with the weapon and 23 bullets wrapped in a carrier bag and shoved down his trousers.

The 40-year-old admitted to possessing a firearm and ammunition.

On Friday, he was sentenced to six years and eight months in jail at Birmingham Crown Court.

Detective Constable Steve Lewis, of West Midlands Police, said: “It was always going to be difficult for him to explain why he had an illegal handgun and 9mm bullets hidden down his trousers – and he went on to admit his guilt in court.”
