David De Gea v Mohamed Salah

Mohamed Salah is one of the leading candidates to win the PFA player of the year award this season. The Egypt international has scored an incredible 32 goals in 38 games in all competitions.

Salah has scored in his last five Premier League games but will come up against the division’s best goalkeeper at Old Trafford on Saturday.

De Gea has produced some incredible performances this season, including his record-equalling 14 saves at Arsenal back in December. The Spain international will relish the chance to stop Liverpool’s prolific goal-scorer.

Romelu Lukaku v Virgil van Dijk

Romelu Lukaku has rekindled some of his early season form with goals against Chelsea and Crystal Palace in his last two Premier League games.

The Belgium international has netted 14 times in 28 games in the Premier League this term. Virgil van Dijk should be a match for Lukaku’s pace and power.

The Netherlands international became the world’s most expensive defender when he moved to Liverpool in a £75m deal from Southampton in January. Van Dijk has found his feet in Jurgen Klopp’s team in recent weeks but a trip to Old Trafford will be a real test of his progress.

Paul Poga v Emre Can

Paul Pogba has faced relentless scrutiny over the past two months. Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho hasn’t been afraid to haul off or even drop his record signing. Pogba has struggled as part of a two-man midfield alongside Nemanja Matic.

Scott McTominay’s inclusion in Mourinho’s starting line-up has freed up Pogba. However, the Frenchman still has plenty to prove. He will come up against another midfielder looking to shine under the spotlight at Old Trafford on Saturday: Emre Can.

The Germany international is enjoying his best season in a Liverpool shirt. However, the 23-year-old is set to become a free agent at the end of the campaign amid interest from Juventus and Real Madrid. This promises to be an interesting battle between two midfielders with big reputations but a tendency to falter on the biggest occasions.
