The previous two Premier League champions face off on Saturday as Chelsea host Leicester City at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues will be hoping to end a run of three straight draws, two of which were goalless, as they search for their first win of 2018.

Manchester City are running away with the title, but there is still plenty to play for, with Chelsea seeking to make safe a top four spot and Claude Puel’s Foxes aiming for a top-half finish.

Key battles

N’Golo Kanté vs Wilfred N’Didi

N’Golo Kanté has gone slightly under the radar this season with a series of performances that have lacked the sparkle to shine, but have also been good enough to avoid the microscope.

His performances over the last two seasons were always going to be hard to replicate, you get the feeling that the Frenchman’s form has been in slow decline over the past six months, with his status as the league’s best all-round midfielder in some jeopardy.

One of his main challengers this year has been Wilfred N’Didi. No player has made more tackles in the Premier League than the Nigerian, whose presence seems to have finally filled the hole vacated by Kante.

Whoever comes out on top here will have a big influence on the final result.

Andreas Christenson vs Jamie Vardy

Andreas Christensen has had to wait four years for his Chelsea chance and so far, he has not disappointed. The Dane has been in impressive form and has managed to dislodge fan-favourite David Luiz from Antonio Conte’s starting XI.

However, his abilities are set to be tested by one of the most gifted strikers in the league, Jamie Vardy.

Chelsea’s back three are certainly solid, but none of them have the pace necessary to match Leicester’s blistering striker.

This should be an interesting battle.

Who to pick

Marcos Alonso has matched his goal tally from last season already with six goals in just 22 games.
Marcos Alonso has matched his goal tally from last season already with six goals in just 22 games.

Marcos Alonso’s form over the past few months makes him a hot-pick. Not only is Alonso defensively sound, having notched up four clean sheets in the past month, he’s also proven to be an attacking sensation, scoring three and assisting once

Alonso also has previously scored against the Foxes, bagging a brace at the King Power last season.

The Spaniard is a must-have.

Who to avoid

Chelsea star Alvaro Morata backed to start scoring goals again by team-mate Antonio Rudiger

Álvaro Morata made a blistering start to life at Stamford Bridge, there has been a stark difference between the player Chelsea signed and the one who has led the line in recent weeks.

There are no two ways about it: his catalogue of glaring misses recently has cost Chelsea vital points. He has looked off the pace and short of confidence.

Morata looks tired and troubled at the moment and would be a risky pick for any fantasy manager.

Who to watch

Eden Hazard is likely to be buoyed this weekend, having been voted in UEFA’s team of the year.

With his recent form being somewhat disappointing, the Belgian is certainly due a big performance. If Hazard is on his game, Chelsea will walk away with the three points.

Keep your eyes on this guy.
