Marco Silva has left Hull City with immediate effect, according to reports.

An official announcement is expected later today, but the Hull Daily Mail are reporting the Portuguese boss has activated his relegation release clause in a meeting with the club’s owners last night.

Silva leaves the club having won six league games, but ultimately it wasn’t enough as City were relegated from the Premier League, six points from safety.

Silva has been heavily linked with several managerial jobs since almost leading Hull to a remarkable great escape.

He was reportedly meeting with Portuguese giants Porto this week but those talks appear to have collapsed and Silva is now being heavily linked with the vacant managerial job at Crystal Palace, following Sam Allardyce’s retirement.
