Mauricio Pochettino has insisted Man United’s search for a new manager is none of his concern despite rumours linking him to the job.

Following the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the club have said they will look for an interim manager to take over from Michael Carrick, before making a permanent appointment in the summer.

It’s believed Pochettino would be keen on being that permanent manager, with the Argentinian not fully settled at Paris Saint-Germain.

However, the 49-year-old wanted to focus only on his current club in his latest press-conference, and warned his comments in the past about his admiration for Sir Alex Ferguson could be taken out of context.

“What another club are doing in that moment is not my business, not my problem,” Pochettino said. “I need to be focused on Paris Saint-Germain.

“I’m not going to make the mistake to talk. In the past, when I was at Espanyol and my dream was to meet Ferguson, all that, I can tell now it’s going to be misunderstood and out of context.

“I was a player at Paris Saint-Germain, I love the club, I love the fans. I think it’s a fantastic time to be at the club.”

PSG are currently 11 points clear at the top of Ligue 1, and a win over Man City on Wednesday night would take them top of their Champions League group.

Pochettino was keen to reiterate how happy he is at the French club.

“I am very focused. I am not a kid, I have spent my whole life playing football, and now my 12th year being a coach,” he said.

“We are in a business where the rumours are there. I completely understand what is going on, sometimes in a positive way, sometimes in a negative way.

“This type of thing cannot distract. Rumours are there, and we need to live with that.

“We are so focused, we are giving our 100% to give our best for the club and to help the players perform in the best way. I am so happy at Paris Saint-Germain.”
