UFC Fighter Michael Graves Released Following Arrest for Battery

Michael Graves has been removed from UFC Fight Night: Bader vs. Nogueira, after the UFC confirmed that he had been arrested in Atlanta on a domestic violence charge.

Graves had been slated to face Sergio Moraes on Nov. 19 in Sao Paulo, but was pulled from the fight card after being charged with Battery – Family Violence, a misdemeanor. He was arrested on Saturday, Oct. 1, in Atlanta. Graves remained in jail as of Monday evening, with his surety bond set at $5,000, according to Atlanta Police Department records.

“The UFC organization is aware that Michael Graves was arrested over the weekend on a misdemeanor battery charge,” a UFC statement read on Monday. “The organization takes this situation seriously and is in the process of gathering more information.

“Graves has been removed from his scheduled bout on Nov. 19 as a result of the pending legal matter.”

There were no further details available on the circumstances surrounding his arrest.

Graves, 25, made his way to the Octagon via The Ultimate Fighter: American Top Team vs. Blackzilians. His professional record is currently 6-0-1 following a majority draw with Bojan Veličković at UFC 201.
