Forget football friends... it’s a case of Tottenham twins tonight as Matthew and Michael Craig make history for Spurs.

The Craig brothers were both named on the substitutes' bench by Nuno Espirito Santo for Spurs' Europa Conference League first-leg play-off tie at FC Pacos de Ferreira

The 18-year-old twins, who were born two minutes apart at Barnet Hospital on 16 April, 2003, were included in Nuno's youthful squad for the trip to Portugal, and become the first ever identical twins to be named in a men’s first-team matchday squad for Spurs.

The pair have stepped up to the development squad this year after playing for the Under-18s during the 2020/21 season.

According to spurs, both play as central midfielders, though Matthew can also play at centre-back.

The Craigs represent Scotland at youth level, and spent time at different London clubs before joining Spurs.

The duo were both at Watford before Matthew joined Spurs at U12 level, while Michael played for Arsenal's U12s before making the switch to their north London rivals.
