Michael Vaughan viewed the ongoing debate of Australia’s future with head coach Justin Langer after some poor recent performances as one of the only consolations for England right now. Justin Langer has been under the radar after Australia lost two consecutive T20 international series against the West Indies and Bangladesh.

There are talks of differences of opinions between the Coach and the players in the Australian dressing room which has affected their performances. With the Ashes coming up at the end of this year after the T20 World Cup, England might be happy to see their opponents Australia in a spot of disarray.

Michael Vaughan Views On England’s Opponents In The Winter

England has lost the second home Test against India at Lord’s and has gone down 0-1 in the series in the five-match series. However, their form for all-important Ashes at the end of the year might not be get affected as their opponents Australia has been under big scrutiny with a lot of things happening. Michael Vaughan mentioned that the situation for Australia is the only positive for England at the moment.

“If there is a consolation for England at the moment, it is that their opponents this winter, Australia, are also in turmoil. Results have been poor across several formats, culminating in an embarrassing T20 series defeat to Bangladesh, and there seems to be an open mutiny against Justin Langer, the head coach,” Michael Vaughan wrote on Facebook.

Michael Vaughan Backs Justin Langer’s Approach

Michael Vaughan admitted that Justin Langer was very straightforward in delivering the truths and reckoned that Langer might try to change his character a bit, but added that it will be completely done. He concluded that the bond of trust is very important in the dressing room between the players and the coach.

“Langer is an abrasive presence, someone who will not shy away from delivering harsh truths and often in pretty confrontational language. He was wired that way as a player and while he has attempted to smooth some of those edges as the coach, he will never change completely.

That has clearly rubbed some players up the wrong way and Australia now find themselves in a situation where the bond of trust between the dressing room and the coaching staff seems to have broken down – and we all know how that generally ends,” he added.
