Middlesbrough legend Juninho to star at special event in Stockton this summer
MIDDLESBROUGH legend Juninho is returning to Teesside this summer to take part in a special event at the Stockton Globe.
The former Brazilian midfielder will join ex-Boro team-mates Paul Merson and Craig Hignett on Thursday, August 1.
'Boro Legends – Magic Midfielders', is being hosted by The Red, and will enable Boro fans to hear first-hand accounts from three of the club’s legendary figures. Fans attending will also have the opportunity to join the players on-stage to participate in football-themed competitions.
Dave Roberts, owner of Red Army Group UK Ltd, the parent company of Red Radio, said: "We are absolutely thrilled to finally bring Juninho back to Teesside. It has taken me five years and three face-to-face meetings with him, but his schedule has not allowed him to make the journey back to his second home.
“His impact on Middlesbrough FC and the local community was immense, and we know how much he is still adored by the fans. This evening is a celebration of those unforgettable years and a chance for supporters to reconnect with their heroes.
"We are proud to host such a prestigious event at the Stockton Globe and look forward to a fantastic night of football memories and entertainment.”

Juninho, who was nicknamed 'The Little Fella' made 148 senior appearances for Boro across three spells at the Riverside Stadium.
The fans' favourite said: “I can’t wait to be back on Teesside and meet the fans. The way they welcomed me to Middlesbrough was incredible, it’s in my heart. I’ve always held a place in my heart for the people and for the town.
"The event is going to bring back so many good memories, it is going to be so special for me too. See you soon.”
