Six Arsenal players flew out to Marbella this week with Mikel Arteta for a pre-preseason camp as the Gunners eye another Premier League title challenge.

Arteta's men missed out on the title on the final day of last season, having finished two points behind leaders Manchester City. It was the second successive campaign in which they have sat behind City in second, though this time the Gunners took them down to the wire before eventually falling short.

In an attempt to go one step better next term, six Arsenal stars not on international duty have decided to fly out with Arteta for a summer training camp in southern Spain. Ben White, Fabio Viera, Jurrien Timber, Eddie Nketiah, Emile Smith Rowe and Reiss Nelson are those that have travelled to Marbella.

Martin Odegaard, who featured for Norway in friendlies against Kosovo and Denmark earlier this month, is expected to join the group in the coming days. In total, 10 players are set to make up the final group for the camp, which is designed to ensure players hit the ground running next season.

Sessions are focused on building fitness as the Gunners gear up for their pre-season campaign. Arsenal have four fixtures scheduled in, including two in the United States against Manchester United and Liverpool. Clashes with Bayer Leverkusen and Lyon have also been pencilled in before the start of the season.

The Gunners are due to begin their Premier League campaign with a home fixture against Wolves on August 17. That is followed by a trip to Aston Villa and a clash with Brighton at the Emirates to end the first month. Away matches against Tottenham and Manchester City start a tough September, before they host Leicester.
