Mohamed Salah drops fresh fitness update after Liverpool pre-season boost

Mohamed Salah has provided another update as he continues his pre-season plans before returning to Liverpool.

Salah has been enjoying his summer break following a busy campaign with the Reds. The No.11 scored 25 goals with 14 assists in all competitions for Liverpool in Jurgen Klopp's final season as manager.

Now, Salah will be looking ahead to working with new head coach Arne Slot this summer. Slot will take charge of pre-season training later this month, with the Reds travelling to the United States for friendly fixtures against Real Betis, Arsenal and Manchester United.

With pre-season just a few weeks away, Salah has provided an update on his preparations for the new campaign. The Egyptian posted two photos on his Instagram story on Monday to his 62.3 million followers.

The first post showed that Salah was in the gym, with some weights visible. The second post showed Salah on the treadmill, with the Liverpool star's reflection visible on the screen as he accompanied the post with a bicep emoji.

It remains uncertain when Salah will return to the AXA Training Centre for the start of Liverpool and Slot's pre-season preparations. Egypt were hopeful of having the Reds' star in their squad for this summer's Olympic Games which take place in Paris across late July and early August.

Salah's inclusion in the squad would have meant that the forward would have returned to Merseyside later than the majority of his teammates. However, the Egyptian FA are understood to be accepting that it is increasingly unlikely that Salah will be one of the three players aged 23 or over in the squad.

As a result, Salah will likely be available for the start of Liverpool's pre-season training which gets underway later this month. After travelling to the US, the Reds will conclude their pre-season preparations with an Anfield friendly against Sevilla before facing Ipswich Town in the Premier League opener on August 17.
