West Brom Fan View: Moore's miracle run could still lead to the greatest of escapes
West Brom couldn’t, could they? With fans focusing on the other results that had go their way, Darren Moore’s side still needed to beat Tottenham Hotspur at The Hawthorns, a daunting task, or Premier League relegation would finally be confirmed.
For 92 minutes West Brom battled hard, stayed disciplined and ran their hearts out, knowing that relegation was looming if they couldn’t find a winner. So, when Jake Livermore finally bundled the ball home in added time, The Hawthorns erupted and hope, no matter how small, remained.

And, with Everton scoring a last-minute equaliser against Southampton on Saturday night, hope only increased further. West Brom could actually pull off the greatest of all escapes.
Of course, it’s still extremely unlikely. Southampton need to draw with Swansea and lose to Manchester City, with Swansea also needing to lose against Stoke City on the final day and West Brom will have to win at Crystal Palace. There also needs to be a five-goal swing between West Brom and Southampton. But, you do start to wonder when things keep going your way…
The fact that Baggies fans still have hope is all down to the magnificent Darren Moore. The job he’s done, transforming a team that didn’t look like they could win another game all season, is absolutely phenomenal. In fact, in his five games in charge, West Brom have earned the joint most points in the Premier League (11).
For now, The Great Escape Part Two is still on. All eyes will now be on Swansea vs Southampton on Tuesday night. Boing Boing.
