Morocco World Cup 2022 guide: Star player, fixtures, squad, one to watch, odds to win

New Morocco coach Regragui has already healed some old wounds ahead of the World Cup by bringing richly talented Chelsea playmaker Hakim Ziyech back into the fold.

They will need all their top talents to hit form to make a dent, but there is plenty of attacking ingenuity and pace on display.

Here's everything you need to know about Morocco…

Coach: Walid Regragui. Spent more than a decade in French club football before management.

Captain: Romain Saiss. Reliable defender who joined Besiktas in the summer after six solid seasons with Wolves.

Star player: Achraf Hakimi. Among the world's best attacking full-backs, and has already graced Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain with distinction aged just 24.

One to watch: Hakim Ziyech. Limited to a bit-part role at Chelsea but always offers a defence-splitting pass and will be desperate to impress.

World ranking: 22

Odds: 300/1

Best thing about them: Flair, emotion and intensity in spades so never a dull moment.

Worst thing about them: Could so easily cave in on themselves under pressure.

Their prospects in three words: Shot to nothing.
