Morris tops Edmeston, Milford downs Richfield Springs in TVL playoffs

Feb. 8—The Morris boys basketball team overcame a slow start to defeat Edmeston 43-35 on the road Thursday in the Tri-Valley League playoffs.

Neither team shot the ball well in the first half with Edmeston leading 15-8 at the break.

Tiger Ross led the way with 27 points while Carter Sawyer chipped in eight points in the win.

Braymon Clark led the Panthers with nine points while Gavin McEnroe was close behind with eight.

Morris will take on Milford next Saturday in the TVL championship.

Milford 67, Richfield Springs 59

Milford earned a spot in the Tri-Valley League title game with a 67-59 victory over Richfield Springs at home Thursday.

Christian Lawson led the Wildcats with 23 points while Braden Murphy and Carter Stevens each finished in double-figures as well with 15 and 13 points, respectively.

Bradyn Dunckel scored 23 points in the loss, making five of the Eagles' 12 three-pointers in the game. Alex Baker added 13 while Landen Schultz scored nine.

Schenevus 75, Gilbertsville-Mount Upton 73

Schenevus outlasted Gilbertsville-Mount Upton 75-73 in Thursday's Tri-Valley League playoff game.

Allen Osborne led the Dragons with 22 points in the win, nine of which came in the fourth quarter.

Jackson Reed and Cody Keator added 14 and 10 points, respectively.

Devon Hartwell had a game-high 32 points for G-MU thanks to a 13-for-16 performance at the free throw line. Noah Pain, meanwhile, scored 21 points while Anthony Westford chipped in 11.

Bainbridge- Guilford 56, Deposit-Hancock 47

Bainbridge-Guilford defeated Deposit-Hancock 56-47 at home Thursday in a Midstate Athletic Conference matchup.

James Hogroian finished with 30 points in the win to lead the Bobcats. Isaiah Hampton and Arien Sherman added eight points apiece.

Blake Fortunato led Deposit-Hancock with 21 points.

Charlotte Valley 53, Margaretville 41 (Wednesday)

The Charlotte Valley boys punched their ticket to the Delaware League title game Wednesday with a 53-41 win at Margaretville.

Trevor Waid's triple-double led the Wildcats as he finished with 22 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists.

Ezra Ontl scored 13 points while John Gonsalves added 10 in the win.

For Margaretville, Ryan Sanford scored a team-high 16 points while Tristan McVitty finished with 12.

Charlotte Valley will face South Kortright in next Thursday's title game at SUNY Delhi at 7:30 p.m.

Bainbridge-Guilford 51, Oxford 29 (Wednesday)

Bainbridge-Guilford took down Oxford 51-29 at home Wednesday.

Johnna Henderson had 13 points and seven rebounds while Marissa Mayo added 13 points and Jayslin Henderson tallied eight points, five assists and six steals in the win.

Raya Warner led Oxford with eight points in the loss.

B-G will host Unadilla Valley Friday.

The Oneonta girls recovered from a slow start to defeat Windsor 44-29 on the road Thursday.

After scoring just three points in the first quarter, the Yellowjackets' found their shooting touch and would outscore Windsor 16-2 in the fourth quarter to pull away.

Selene Wellman scored a game-high 16 points, Isabella Giacomelli finished with eight points, 13 rebounds and nine steals, Jordan Bellinger had 10 points and Hayden LeFever pulled down nine rebounds and had five steals.

Oneonta will host Homer Saturday.
