Morton fan forum: 'Final game of season in Inverness is important'

ON Saturday at Cappielow we sort of witnessed a typical end of season game which not surprisingly ended goalless as both Morton and Raith Rovers had very little to play for.

I say “sort of” but there were times when we played some decent football and created good opportunities.

On Friday we make the long trip to Inverness and this will certainly not feel like a typical end of season run of the mill game!

The hosts need a result to avoid the relegation play-offs whilst we know a win will guarantee a fifth-place finish and much needed extra revenue.

Whilst I don’t expect many of us to make the trip through it would be a really nice gesture by the club if they ensured all the complimentary tickets they receive were given to supporters who will attend the match.

I am led to believe that over the season there have been games where such tickets have been unused thus denying us who attend all the games the opportunity to reduce our costs going to away games.

Gestures like this would go a long way towards creating a bond between players, staff and supporters.

Especially as I personally was disappointed on Saturday that only three or four players plus the manager bothered to acknowledge the supporters at the end of our last home game of the season!
