MOUNTAINEER ROUNDUP: Basketball, softball, and baseball all earn late-winter wins

Feb. 19—The Mountaineers and Lady Mountaineers have been hard at work both on the hardwood and the dirt.

Eastern Oklahoma State College athletics were in full swing last week, with baseball, softball, and men's and women's basketball all competing.

In Mountaineer basketball, Jackson Green led EOSC with 24 points in a win over Northern Oklahoma College in Enid, while Xavier Lucas, Jamouri Mccalister, and Jordyn Brown all added in double-digit scoring.

In Lady Mountaineer basketball, Olivia Johnson led with way with 20 points in a victory over Redlands, while Kaylynn Whelan and Nadiyah Cooper each added in double-digit scoring as well.

Mountaineer baseball earned a pair of wins over Bossier Parish Community College, with John Sekich and Wes Bird combining for four RBIs in the first game — while Kamden Thompson got the win on the mound, striking out five.

In the second game, Sekich once again led the way with two RBIs, while Camden White earned the win on the mound and struck out six.

And in college softball, the Lady Mountaineers continued their hot start to the season with a win over Fort Scott. Geralyn Haney and Greenlee Wells combined for 12 of Eastern's 21 RBIs in the victory, and winning pitcher Chloe Brown struck out five from the circle.
