Everton hat-trick hero Steven Naismith revealed he was close to leaving on deadline day - but now thinks he's probably worth a bit more money!

He came on as sub after just nine minutes and scored all three goals as the Toffees beat Chelsea 3-1 at Goodison Park.

And after the match he revealed: "There was some interest in me on transfer deadline day and it’s always hard when you’re not playing but the manager decided he wanted to keep me. Hopefully I showed my worth today.”

Defender Phil Jagielka, meanwhile, paid tribute to John Stones who turned in a display that showed why Chelsea were willing to pay £40m for him last month.
