NBA-Highlights from Saturday's NBA games

Nov 12 (The Sports Xchange) - Highlights from National Basketball Association games on Saturday: LA Lakers 126, Pelicans 99 Jordan Clarkson scored 23 points, D'Angelo Russell had 22 and Lou Williams added 21 points to power the Los Angeles Lakers to a 126-99 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans. The Pelicans, who fell to 1-9, averted an even worse fate when Anthony Davis returned to the court in the third quarter after appearing to have suffered a lower-back injury. Davis had scored 13 consecutive points to keep the Pelicans within striking distance, and his floating layup with 8:13 left in the third quarter cut the Lakers' lead to 63-62. But at the end of the play, Davis landed awkwardly, and he crumpled to the court holding his lower right back. Davis went immediately to the locker room, and while he was off the court, the Lakers outscored the Pelicans 16-4 to take a 79-64 lead. Davis came back six minutes later, but his game-high 34 points were not enough. Celtics 105, Pacers 99 Isaiah Thomas scored 12 of his 23 points during the final 4:19 as the Boston Celtics defeated the Indiana Pacers. Kelly Olynyk added 16 points, helping the Celtics hand the Paul George-less Pacers their first home defeat. George suffered a sprained left ankle in Friday's overtime loss at Philadelphia and could not play. Jeff Teague led Indiana with 20 points. Hawks, 117, 76ers 96 Guard Tim Hardaway Jr. sparked Atlanta's productive bench with a game-high 20 points and helped the Hawks roll to a 117-96 win over the Philadelphia 76ers. The reserves scored 20 of their combined 54 points in the second quarter, seven of those from Hardaway, to help the Hawks change the direction of the game and post their fourth successive win. Hardaway even shook off an injury. He went to the locker room with a right hip contusion with four minutes left in the third quarter but returned midway in the fourth quarter to hit two three-pointers and help the Hawks hold off the Sixers. Raptors 118, NY Knicks 107 DeMar DeRozan scored 33 points and added seven rebounds and four assists as the Toronto Raptors defeated the New York Knicks.
