On the television side, HBO’s The Last of Us, A Black Lady Sketch Show and What Am I Eating? With Zooey Deschanel were nominated.

According to the non-profit, the EMA Awards Gala “commemorates leaders working towards a more sustainable future as well as productions setting the standard for green practices and films, television series, and documentaries harnessing the power of storytelling to advocate for environmental justice, climate action, and sustainability.”

EMA executive co-chair Lance Bass will host the gala event that takes place in Los Angeles on Jan. 27th, with Samantha Ronson taking on DJ duties for the evening.

“As we enter this new year, the EMA Awards Gala continues to serve as a catalyst, uniting the industry behind a larger mission,” said EMA CEO Debbie Levin in a statement. “After a difficult but essential shift in our industry, we’re excited to bring the focus back and highlight those who’ve worked endlessly to save our planet.”

Says Dern, who will receive the EMA Ongoing Commitment Award, “I’m deeply honored to receive this award from The Environmental Media Association and to be acknowledged alongside esteemed eco-warriors in the industry that have paved the way. I am eager to continue doing my part and storytelling through art to create a safer planet for our children.”
