Nov 28 (The Sports Xchange) - Highlights from National Hockey League games on Saturday: - - - - Kings 3, Blackhawks 2 (OT) Right winger Marian Gaborik scored two goals, including the game winner, as the Los Angeles Kings defeated Chicago Blackhawks 3-2 in overtime. Gaborik took a long lead pass from Kings center Anze Kopitar and sped in alone to beat Chicago goaltender Scott Darling with a wrist shot at 2:04 of the extra time. Los Angeles (14-8-1) remained atop the Pacific Division with the victory. Goaltender Jonathan Quick (11-7-1) stopped 20 Chicago shots for the win. - - Flyers 3, Rangers 0 Right winger Wayne Simmonds scored two goals and had an assist while goaltender Steve Mason made 24 saves as the Philadelphia Flyers defeated the New York Rangers. Flyers center Sean Couturier also scored for the Flyers, who have won three of their last four games. Rangers' goaltender Antti Raanta lost for the first time in five starts this season, as he allowed two goals on 33 shots. - - Capitals 4, Maple Leafs 2 Left winger Jason Chimera scored a goal and added an assist as the Washington Capitals defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs. It was the fifth successive win for the Capitals, who also got goals from Tom Wilson, Marcus Johansson and Justin Williams. Peter Holland and Leo Komarov scored for Toronto. Maple Leafs goaltender Jonathan Bernier stopped 19 shots. Capitals goaltender Braden Holtby made 32 saves. - - Islanders 3, Lightning 2 John Tavares scored the game-winning goal on a power play with 3:36 remaining to give the New York Islanders a 3-2 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning. Tavares' 11th goal of the season came after Lightning winger Erik Condra was sent off on a hooking call that allowed Tavares to poke a rebound off a shot from center Frans Nielsen past goaltender Ben Bishop. - - Oilers 3, Penguins 2 (SO) Centers Matt Hendricks and Jordan Eberle scored in a shootout to give the Edmonton Oilers a 3-2 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins. Center Leon Draisaitl and left winger Lauri Korpikoski gave the Oilers a 2-0 lead before Pittsburgh center Evgeni Malkin forged a 2-2 tie with two goals in the second period. - - Devils 3, Canadiens 2 (OT) Defenseman John Moore scored at 2:31 of overtime to give the New Jersey Devils a come-from-behind 3-2 victory over the Montreal Canadiens. Center Patrik Elias and right winger Kyle Palmieri scored third-period goals for the Devils, with Palmieri's coming with 22 seconds left in regulation. Center Alex Galchenyuk scored both Montreal goals. Goaltender Cory Schneider stopped 30 shots for New Jersey, while Mike Condon made 28 saves for the Canadiens. - - Blues 3, Blue Jackets 1 Right wing Scottie Upshall broke a 1-1 tie with a third-period goal to lead the St. Louis Blues to a 3-1 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets. Upshall scored his fourth goal of the season on a wrist shot from the slot 6:02 into the period, beating goalie Sergei Bobrovsky. Left wing Alexander Steen added an empty-net goal in the final minute. - - Stars 4, Wild 3 (OT) Center Tyler Seguin scored in overtime as the Dallas Stars completed an impressive comeback to beat the Minnesota Wild. Dallas trailed 3-0 with just over 15 minutes to play in regulation but got goals from defensemen Alex Goligoski and John Klingberg and a short-handed goal from left winger Jamie Benn in a span of less than 10 minutes to draw even. Goaltender Antti Niemi finished with 23 saves for the Stars. Left winger Thomas Vanek and center Charlie Coyle each had a goal and an assist while right winger Jason Pominville also scored for Minnesota. - - Sabres 4, Predators 1 Buffalo Sabres center Sam Reinhart scored two goals that helped Buffalo beat the Nashville Predators. Reinhart put his team ahead in the second period with the second goal of a five-minute power play, then added insurance 58 seconds into the third period slipped behind goalie Juuse Saros and barely trickled over the goal line. The 20-year-old Finn, making his NHL debut after being called up earlier, made 20 saves. Sabres goalie Chad Johnson made 28 saves. - - Coyotes 4, Senators 3 Arizona left winger Mikkel Boedker had three goals for his second hat-trick against Ottawa in as many games this season in the Coyotes' 4-3 victory over the Senators at Gila River Arena. Boekder scored in the first minute in each of the first two periods and put in a rebound with 6:31 remaining for a 4-2 lead. Boedker has nine goals this season for the Coyotes (13-9-1), who have won three in a row. Left winger Mike Hoffman scored two goals, giving him 10 for the season, as Ottawa (12-6-5) had a seven-game point streak broken. The Senators had won four in a row and five of seven. - - Avalanche 5, Jets 3 Center Matt Duchene and left winger Gabriel Landeskog had a goal and an assist each as the Colorado Avalanche held on to beat the Winnipeg Jets 5-3. Goaltender Semyon Varlamov rebounded from a tough game on Wednesday to stop 25 shots as the Avalanche won for just the third time in 10 home games. Center Carl Soderberg, left winger Blake Comeau and right winger Chris Wagner also had goals. - - Sharks 5, Flames 2 Five different skaters scored goals and goalie Martin Jones made 25 saves as the San Jose Sharks overwhelmed the Calgary Flames 5-2. Tommy Wingels, Tomas Hertl, Joel Ward, Patrick Marleau and Marc-Edouard Vlasic all scored for the Sharks, while Markus Granlund and Micheal Ferlands replied for the Flames in the third.
