NHL-National Hockey League roundup

Dec 10 (The Sports Xchange) - Los Angeles Kings center Tyler Toffoli went to the dressing room three minutes into Saturday's game against the Ottawa Senators after he was boarded by Mark Borowiecki. He returned to the contest with four minutes left in the first period. Toffoli, who led the Kings in goals last season with 31 and was second on the team in points coming into the game with 15, remained down on the ice as a scrum ensued involving several players. He got to his feet on his own power before heading straight to the locker room. Borowiecki received a five-minute major and the Kings capitalized by scoring twice during the penalty for a 2-0 lead. -- The Boston Bruins recalled forwards Noel Acciari and Danton Heinen from Providence of the American Hockey League. Acciari, 24, played in 12 games with the Bruins this season, recording two assists and four penalty minutes. Heinen, who is in his first pro season with the Bruins organization, was assigned to Providence on Nov. 2 after playing seven games in Boston. He averaged a point per game during his Providence stint with seven goals and six assists in 13 AHL games. -- The Carolina Hurricanes recalled goaltender Michael Leighton from the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League. Leighton was assigned to the Checkers for Friday night's game against the Bakersfield Condors, where he stopped 23 shots in a 3-2 overtime loss. He rejoins the Hurricanes for Saturday night's game in San Jose. Leighton, 35, is 1-1 with a 3.05 goals-against average and .893 save percentage for the Hurricanes this season.
