No. 1 Star: Christian Dvorak, Arizona Coyotes

Dvorak had a career night scoring twice and assisting on another as the Coyotes blanked the Calgary Flames 5-0. On a hot streak of late, Dvorak has scored five goals and recorded seven points in his last five games.

No. 2 Star: Jimmy Vesey, New York Rangers

Vesey’s goal with 6:32 left in the third period broke a 2-2 deadlock and helped the Rangers to a 3-2 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets. The goal was Vesey’s 13th of the season and only his second since New Year’s Eve, with his last also coming against the Blue Jackets.

No. 3 Star: Mike Smith, Arizona Coyotes

The Coyotes netminder stopped 36 saves to record his second shutout of the season and the 32nd of his career. Smith is now tied with Ilya Bryzgalov and Nikolai Khabibulin for most shutout in franchise history (21).

Honorable Mention: New York has now won six straight … Dan Girardi scored his second career shorthanded goal and first since Oct. 11, 2009 … Kevin Hayes picked up a goal and an assist and now has seven points in his last four games:

Antti Raanta stopped 30 shots and has won three of his last four starts … J.T. Miller’s assist extended his point streak to seven games, tying his career high … Luke Schenn and Ryan White recorded two points each … One bright spot for Chad Johnson:

The Coyotes scored three times in the second period to give them 21 over their last 10 games in the middle frame … Some new Canadians got the chance to sing the national anthem before the Flames-Coyotes game:

Did You Know? Harvard won their first Beanpot since 1993.

Dishonorable Mention: The power plays for the Blue Jackets and Rangers combined to go 0-for-9 … Calgary’s power play was also bad, failing on all five of their chances … Scott Hartnell left the game in the first period and did not return due to a lower-body injury … Johnson lasted two periods for the Flames after allowing four goals on 23 shots.
