NHL Three Stars: Hellebuyck blanks Predators; Anderson shuts out Rangers

No. 1 Star: Connor Hellebuyck, Winnipeg Jets

The young goaltender stopped all 42 Nashville Predators shots on goal in a 3-0 win. In Hellebuyck’s last start, he stopped just 25 of 30 Nashville shots on goal in 5-1 loss. Hellebuyck is the third goaltender in Jets/Atlanta Thrashers franchise history to make at least 40 saves in a shutout. The victory by the Jets broke a five-game losing streak.

No. 2 Star: Craig Anderson, Ottawa Senators

Anderson made 33 saves to lead the Senators in a 2-0 win at the New York Rangers. The netminder has stopped 84 of the last 86 shots on goal he has faced. He has won his last four starts and holds a 2.03 goal-against average and .936 save percentage on the season. The win for Ottawa was their fourth in a row.

No. 3 Star: Jakub Voracek, Philadelphia Flyers

Voracek scored a goal and added an assist in a 5-3 victory over the Calgary Flames. So far this year, Voracek has eight goals in 23 games. In 73 games last season, Voracek scored just 11 goals. The victory was Philadelphia’s second in their last five games.
