Nick Kyrgios fined for simulating sex act with a water bottle at Queen's Club

Nick Kyrgios fined for 'inappropriate behaviour' at Queen's Club

Nick Kyrgios has been fined 15,000 euros (£13,190) after an obscene action involving a water bottle at Queen's on Saturday.

The Australian, who is no stranger to controversy, was caught on camera performing an imitation of a lewd act at the change of ends during his semi-final loss to Marin Cilic.

And he has been handed a hefty sanction by the ATP Tour for "inappropriate behaviour".

Kyrgios had entertained the crowds during his run to the Fever-Tree Championships semi-final as he beat Andy Murray and Kyle Edmund.

During his win over Edmund the BBC was forced to apologise to viewers after a string of Kyrgios expletives were audible on air, to which the Australian said he "did not care".

Kyrgios, who beat British pair Andy Murray and Kyle Edmund, had yesterday said he was satisfied with his week's work after following up a run to the final in Stuttgart last week with one to the last four at Queen's.

His serving is in a particularly good place as he served 98 aces in his four outings, twice achieving a personal best of 32 in a match.

"I've played some good tennis, have played some tough opponents," he said.

"I played a lot of three-setters and a lot of tennis. That's a positive. My body feels pretty good.

"It was a pretty successful couple of weeks, obviously given being out for two and a half months before that.

"I feel confident for Wimbledon, for sure. There's a lot of grass court players.

"I mean, the grand slams are totally different. Best-of-five sets - there's a lot more momentum swings.

"The last couple of weeks, I feel pretty untouchable on serve. Today I just didn't have any chances to break at all."
