Nick Montgomery rejects post Hibs job offer and 'set' for Premier League role

Nick Montgomery has REJECTED the chance to get back into management with Melbourne Victory and could end up in the Premier League, according to a report.

The Englishman was sacked as Hibs boss near the end of last season after just eight months in charge which saw them finish outside the top six for a second time in three years. He landed the Easter Road gig on the strength of excellent work at A-League side Central Coast Mariners and was offered the chance to return to Australia.

But FTBL claim he has turned down their advances, informing them he would like to stay in the UK for the foreseeable future. He as previously had interest from the English Championship and there are also claims he has accepted an offer from a Premier League side to be an assistant coach.

Ange Postecoglou's Tottenham coach, Mile Jedinak, has also snubbed Victory and while ex-Hibee Mark Milligan wants the job, it is set to go to former Hearts player Patrick Kisnorbo. He previously won a title with city rivals Melbourne City and is out of work after leaving French outfit Troyes seven months ago.

The ex-Tynecastle defender is keen to get back into football and appears to be willing to cross the city divide. Montgomery was one of their preferred options after his own success with Mariners prior to flopping at Easter Road.
