Manchester City forward Nolito admits he is desperate to leave the club after just one season – ad even claimed the English weather made his daughter ‘change colour’.

The 30-year-old joined City from Celta Vigo for £13.8 million and was Pep Guardiola’s first major signing, but he fell out of favour during his first season at the Etihad Stadium and started only nine Premier League matches.

In an interview with Spanish radio station El Transistor he revealed he had struggled to settle in Manchester and wanted to leave.

“I have learnt very, very little English — it’s very hard,” he said. “Just ‘tomorrow’, ‘good morning’, ‘good afternoon’ and a little more.

“My daughter’s face has changed colour — it looks like she’s been living in a cave.”

After a promising start to the season, Nolito struggled, only scoring four goals in 19 league appearances and he hasn’t started a match since City’s FA Cup draw at Huddersfield in February.

He added, “I don’t think City are counting on me too much, given how I’ve played since January.

“I am under the contract, so the club will decide, put I want to leave.

“I haven’t played in six months. I will do everything possible to make Spain’s World Cup squad.”

Nolito has been heavily linked with a move to Sevilla after he was spotted in a Seville ice cream parlour with the club’s sporting director, Óscar Arias.

However, Nolito insists that was a coincidence, “I was just casually shopping for clothes for my wife in Seville,” he said. “I went to get a coffee and bumped into Sevilla’s director of football casually.”
