Mikel Arteta’s team talk to his Arsenal players after they lost their first three matches of last season has been revealed in the latest clip from the All or Nothing documentary.

The Gunners got their 2021/22 campaign off to a disastrous start, losing on the opening day of the season to Brentford and then following that with defeats to Chelsea and Manchester City.

Arsenal were at the bottom of the table at that point, with nine goals conceded and none scored.

Addressing the players after that run, Arteta discussed the heart surgery he had as a child and how that related to high performance teams in all areas of society.

He told the team how positive he was with the situation, despite the form, and how much faith he had in them. After those opening defeats, the Gunners went on a ten-match unbeaten run across all competitions.

“Post Man City, I was dead,” Arteta told his players. “I had fear, I had insecurities, I had the media that is killing me.

“Suddenly I have all the positives. I have an incredible family, a wife, three kids. Another one, the club always support me from the top.

“The moment I go from here to there [improvement in mood] is you guys. This week I have found the purpose why I want to be a coach, why I have to be with this team. For this guys, what I have to say is thank you so much to all of you. You made in a difficult moment the best week of my football career.

“Believe in yourselves, I do. You’re really good. The last thing I want to do as a coach is blame any of you in difficult moments. My responsibility, I take the s***, let’s go.”

The first three episodes of the series are out on August 4 with subsequent bundles of episodes released over the two weeks.
