Oddschecker: Silvestre De Sousa to be Dominating at Sandown

York – 14:20 – Big Country 9/4 – 2pts
There’s no doubting Bi Country is an impressive horse, he missed out on landing the hat-trick last time out when finishing runner up to Frontiersman, who has since gone on to finish runner-up at Epsom to Highland Reel. The Michael Appleby horse still has room for improvement, and a step back in trip should work for him today.
York – 16:05 – Sainted – 5/1 – 1pt
Sainted gets her first crack over these conditions, and her first race in almost a year. William Haggas rarely wastes a run, so he’ll be expecting big things after the big absence. 5/1 is too tempting for this filly.
York – 16:40 – Monjeni – 3/1 – 2pts
Monjeni will love the conditions, and has really taken to this new trip since switching over. He recorded his third win in four when winning over at Haydock, and appeared to have plenty left in the tank.
Sandown 15:45 – Shargiah – 2/1 – 3pts
De Sousa has been on fire lately, and appears to have another winner in the fourth at Sandown. Shargiah has been raised a further 5lb since winning with ease at Newcastle, but should still be too much for this field, as the trip and conditions suit him.

Dominating loved the step up in trip last time out, where he won with ease at Nottingham last month. He’ll remain tough to beat despite the 5lb rise in weight. Blushing Red is the second favourite, but has yet to show he can do it on the turf. The Johnston-trained horse is currently best odds with Paddy Power, if you’ve not got an account there’s plenty of sign-up bonuses available.
