Olympics-Russian medallist leaves Games amid doping probe - official

GANGNEUNG, South Korea, Feb 19 (Reuters) - Russian curling medallist Alexander Krushelnitsky has left the Olympic village and surrendered his accreditation after being suspected of testing positive for a banned substance, a Russian Olympic delegation official said on Monday.

Delegation spokesman Konstantin Vybornov told Reuters that Krushelnitsky, who won bronze with his wife in mixed-doubles curling at the Pyeongchang winter Games, was awaiting the result of a "B" sample that is expected later on Monday.

A source at the Games told Reuters on Sunday that Krushelnitsky was suspected of having tested positive for meldonium, a banned substance that increases blood flow and improves exercise capacity in athletes.
