Oneonta girls recover from slow start to win 36-31

Jan. 8—The Oneonta girls basketball team used a big fourth quarter to overcome a slow start and defeat Cobleskill-Richmondville 36-31 at home Monday.

After being held to just two points in the first quarter, the Yellowjackets clawed their way back, outscoring C-R 15-2 in the final period.

Selene Wellman led the way with 14 points and five steals while Kylie Carr notched a double-double of 11 points and 14 rebounds.

Oneonta (4-5) will be at Norwich Wednesday.

Unatego 48, Seton Catholic 38

The Unatego girls took down Seton Catholic 48-38 in a non-league road game Monday.

Lizzie Craft led the Spartans with 19 points while Bailey McCoy also finished in double figures with 11 points. Harly Birdsall added six points in the win.

Unatego will host Deposit-Hancock Thursday.

Laurens/Milford 42, Worcester 26 (Saturday)

Laurens/Milford defeated Worcester 42-26 in Laurens Saturday.

Delaney Maison had a game-high 24 points and eight steals for L/M while Kyrah Andrades added 12 points and six steals in the win.

Hailey Shalor had seven points to lead the Wolverines.

L/M will visit Richfield Springs Wednesday while Worcester will host Franklin on the same day.

Delhi 41, James I. O'Neill 30 (Saturday)

Strong team defense helped Delhi defeat James I. O'Neill 41-30 in Saturday's cross-sectional contest.

Natalie Vredenburgh tallied a team-high 12 points while adding five steals while Tyler Abts had eight points, five steals and four assists and Lexi Davis scored seven points.

Delhi (7-2) will host Walton/Downsville Tuesday.

Bainbridge-Guilford coach Bob Conway picked up his 600th career varsity win Friday as the Lady Bobcats defeated Harpursville 62-15.

Johnna Henderson had a double-double of 22 points and 12 rebounds while Jayslin Henderson had 15 points, six steals and five rebounds, Marissa Mayo had 15 points and seven rebounds and Victoria Suda had six points and 10 rebounds in the win.

Grace Bagg led Harpursville with seven points.

B-G will host Greene Tuesday while Harpursville will visit Greene Thursday.
