Oneonta rolls past Watkins Glen 70-46 in sectional opener

Feb. 21—The Oneonta boys basketball team rolled past Watkins Glen 70-46 in the first round of the Section IV Class B tournament at home Wednesday.

Brady Carr led the Yellowjackets with 24 points while Grayson Brockington and Britten Zeh were also in double-figures with 13 and 12 points, respectively, in the win.

Chris Simiele had 16 points to lead Watkins Glen.

OHS will host Chenango Valley Saturday in the quarterfinal round at 6 p.m.

Marathon 53, Bainbridge- Guilford 49

Bainbridge-Guilford couldn't hold on to an eight-point halftime lead Wednesday in a 53-49 loss to Marathon in the Section IV Class C playoffs.

James Hogroian led the Bobcats with 20 points while Michael Lipani scored nine and Isaiah Hampton added eight.

B-G finishes the season with a record of 11-10.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Bainbridge-Guilford took down Southern Cayuga 48-33 on the road Tuesday in the first round of the Section IV Class C tournament.

Marissa Mayo led the way with 17 points while Johnna Henderson added 10 points and Peyton Umbra netted eight points in the win.

Circe Perez and Emily Prince each scored eight points for Southern Cayuga.

B-G will take on top-seeded Watkins Glen on the road in the quarterfinals Friday.
