Orpington's Emma Raducanu set for second Wimbledon showdown
Emma Raducanu is set to take on Elise Mertens at Wimbledon today after making it through to the second round.
The 21-year-old tennis sensation from Orpington will face the world number 33 player for a place in the third round.
Raducanu, riding high from a scrappy win over Renata Zarazua on Monday, June 1, is grateful for each match and aiming to enjoy Wimbledon as much as possible.
After her opening win, she said: "I think that each match I win should be celebrated a lot.
"Results-wise I have no expectations.
"I just have expectations of myself to really put myself on the line on the court and fight and not let any frustrations get to me."
The tennis star, who went to Newstead Wood School in Orpington, previously said she would be "over the moon" to even get through her first round.

The match is set to take place on Court No 1, following Coco Gauff and Carlos Alcaraz.
Play on Court No 1 begins at 1pm, and Raducanu is estimated to start between 4.30pm and 5pm depending on the length of the previous matches.
Last year, Raducanu was unable to take part in Wimbledon due to surgery on her wrists and ankle.
Before her first match on Monday, she said: "Iâm very happy to be back here.
"I think Iâve missed this tournament so much.
"I just feel very grateful to have the opportunity and the wild card to be able to compete here."
The young athlete was given an MBE from King Charles for her contributions to tennis in November 2022, following her landmark US Open win.
Her victory against Canadian Leylah Fernandez in 2021 marked her as the first British woman to win a grand slam since Virginia Wade in 1977.
Raducanu said: "I obviously have amazing memories from 2021.
"Itâs an amazing place to be."
Emma Raducanu's second match will be shown live on BBC Two in the UK, with full coverage of the Wimbledon tournament, across BBC One and Two from 10.30am until 10pm.
