OTLEY have lost for the first time this season in the Aire-Wharfe League Premier Division.

They could not defend a total of 230 at Cross Green as Saltaire won by three wickets with seven overs to spare.

However, that score looked unlikely when Otley were 97-6, despite 37 up front by Alex Atkinson.

However, No 3 Damon Reeve was their star batter, making exactly 100 before being last out in a 2hr 48min knock that contained 15 fours.

He finally found a reliable partner in No 10 George Addy (29), who helped him add 89 for the ninth wicket.

But Saltaire had their own centurion in Sandeep Singh, whose unbeaten 101 saw the visitors over the line in good time, denying Steve Brown (4-67).

Burley then did Otley a favour by handing Collingham only a second league defeat, which means that Otley’s lead at the top is 22 points.

The figure 99 loomed large in Burley’s innings as the hosts won the toss.

They had an opening stand of 99 between Jason Krafft and Mark Harrison (32) and the former was then run out for 99 with the score on 184.

Matthew Hastings (37) and Nick Brook (23) contributed down the order and Burley finished on 249-9.

Collingham were 145-4 but could only muster 211 as their innings fell away, Joe Hall taking 4-53 and Dan Revis 2-23.

Burley are now third on 114 points, just 12 points behind Collingham, while Rawdon, in fifth, are one of three teams on 90 points after winning a thriller at Steeton.

Rawdon chose to bat and made 184-7, keeper James Dobson top-scoring with 48, with Tom Watson (37) and captain Joe Smith (23) weighing in.

They then restricted Steeton, who have dropped into a demotion berth, to 180-9, Tom Wrigglesworth taking 3-33 and Andrew Doidge 2-37.

Horsforth Hall Park are up to eighth after a comfortable victory at basement boys Bilton.

The home side chose to bat, but their innings tailed off to 191, having been 144-5 as Priyank Koli (5-20) destroyed the lower half of their batting after Michael Loubser had taken 3-37.

Hall Park were put on course by opener Joe Greaves (63) and Jake Littleton (34), who added 96 for the second wicket, and keeper Andy Bairstow (32no) then took them to victory by three wickets with 12.5 overs remaining.

Pool were passed in the table by Hall Park after losing by five wickets at Tong Park Esholt, with the visitors only making 152 after winning the toss.

That was disappointing after they were 100-1, opener Logan Duval adding 71 for the second wicket with skipper Charlie Bell (30), No 4 Will Pallister scoring 25 as the innings fell away.

Kruthik Patel then took 3-33 but TPE were always in charge, despite losing opener Jake Sali for a duck, and won by the end of the 42nd over.

In Division One, leaders Addingham made it seven wins out of seven from completed matches with an 11-run victory at Beckwithshaw in a top-of-the-table clash.

The visitors won the toss and scored 210-8, which was largely down to partnerships of 64 and 61.

The first was between opener Ricky Palacio (34) and Nick Farrell (49) and the second between captain Rory Stead (42) and James Nixon (22).

All five Addingham bowlers then took wickets as second-placed Beckwithshaw were dismissed for 199, with Farrell (3-48) leading the way.

Ilkley are now just nine points behind Beckwithshaw after a 76-run victory over visitors Bardsey.

Keeper Will Spivey anchored Ilkley’s innings of 241-7 after they won the toss, being fifth out for 104, made off 131 balls and containing 13 fours.

He put on 103 for the first wicket with Robbie Murray (42) and 122 for the fourth with Alex Bailey (51).

Bardsey were then dismissed for 165, with Louis Brown taking 3-32, James Bourke 2-28 and Paul Dover 2-50.

Olcanian are fourth, 12 points further back, after an easy win over visitors Follifoot, who only scored 141 after choosing to bat.

Manley du Preez (4-36 off 15 overs) put the skids under Bardsey early, and Tom Starkey (3-8) helped to finish them off.

Starkey then starred with the bat, making 77 not out off just 45 balls opening, including 17 fours, putting on 126 unbroken with Tom Smallwood (50no) after two early wickets had fallen, with Olicanian winning in just the 17th over.

Guiseley’s batting failed at Bolton Villas after they made 106 after taking first knock, Joe Fisher (25no) helping them past three figures.

Aniket Rana then did well to take 3-27 but Villas won by four wickets in the 22nd over as Guiseley dropped to seventh, with three teams overtaking them, including Olicanian and Villas.

Menston fell one place to third in Division Two as Shadwell climbed above them following a 113-run victory.

Simon Panteli (2-33) did best with the ball as hosts Shadwell made 265-6 but no-one made above 40 in Menston’s reply of 152, McCauley Taylor (37), Eddie Killerby (30) and Tom Mounsey (29) contributing the most.

Horsforth have dropped to sixth after losing by five wickets at Skipton.

Will Joyce scored 90 from 97 deliveries, including seven fours and three sixes, as Horsforth made 198-9 after choosing to bat.

But only three other players made double figures - captain Tom Colley (21), who opened, Alex Wiggan (20) and No 10 Matthew Wainwright (16no).

Wiggan (4-45) then took four of the five wickets to fall as Skipton won in the 42nd over.

The best match in the division was at Green Lane, who scored 201-9 against leaders Kirkstall Educational after being sent in.

Chris Bogdanos scored 65 before he was run out and put on 41 for the first wicket with Michael Ellis (23) and 52 for the fourth with Daniel Husband (20), Bradley Hallas making 36 before he was also run out.

Lane then had Kirkstall at 132-6, and it needed a last-wicket stand of eight to take them to victory with three balls remaining, Mark Horsman taking 3-51 and Ben Roberts 2-56.

Leeds Modernians’ batting failed at home to Old Leodiensians as they made only 115 to lose by four wickets, dropping them into a re-election place, although Chris Dalby bagged 3-25.
