Pep Guardiola sends Liverpool Premier League title race warning to Arsenal and Man City

Pep Guardiola has refused to rule Liverpool out of the Premier League title race, insisting Arsenal and Manchester City could also implode in their final matches of the season.

The Reds find themselves five points adrift of league leaders Arsenal with only three matches to play and four behind Manchester City, who still have a game in hand on Jurgen Klopp's side.

Defeat at Everton and drawing with West Ham United on Saturday afternoon has seen dreams of the title dissipate, handing the impetus to the current top two to battle it out for glory.

Klopp all but admitted top spot was out of reach following Liverpool's latest result, telling reporters on Saturday: “I’m not angry or whatever. We have to win football games and let’s see what that means in the end.

"We have 75 points, so 84 are possible. It’s a good target to try to do that and that will be my attitude and my mindset and we will see what that means. It’s long ago that someone become champions with 84 points. I’m sorry I don’t have better news for you or anyone else.”

Viewing the situation surrounding the Reds in a different manner, Guardiola told Sky Sports ahead of his side's 2-0 win at Nottingham Forest on Sunday: "Anything can happen. There are still three games for them. What happened with Liverpool, they dropped a few points in the last games and it can happen to us and to Arsenal.

"Tough games for everyone. Fulham and Spurs away is going to be really difficult. We have two or three days to recover and prepare for the four finals we have."

Liverpool are next in action on Sunday afternoon when Tottenham Hotspur make the trip to Anfield as they continue their quest for fourth place with Aston Villa.
