Peter Crouch is back in the Premier League at the age of 38 after completing his move to Burnley.

Crouch has returned to the top-flight for what could be a final season at this level.

The former England international has agreed a deal until the end of this season and could make his Burnley debut against Southampton, one of his old clubs, this weekend.

Crouch was 38 on Wednesday and is targeting more goals, with the striker already on 108 goals in the top division.

He said: “I still want to achieve things. I want to get more games in the Premier League and I would love to add to the 100 Premier League goals.

“If I can add to that and get up the list that would be great as well, and hopefully that will all cumulate in Burnley moving forward.

“My game has probably changed a little bit. I’m not 25. But my attributes haven’t waned. I never really had blistering pace, so I haven’t lost that.

“I know I can impact games at this level. I scored goals last season in the Premier League and I know I will do the same again if given the opportunity this year.

Stoke signed Wales international Sam Vokes for £7m as part of the deal, ending the striker’s seven-year association with Burnley.

Crouch was signed for £12m by former Stoke manager Tony Pulis from Tottenham Hotspur in 2011, making over 250 appearances for the club and scoring 62 goals.

Burnley will be his seventh club in the Premier League, after spells with Southampton, Aston Villa, Portsmouth, Spurs, Liverpool and Stoke.

Stoke’s chief executive Tony Scholes said: “Peter’s contribution to Stoke City has been outstanding and he has become an iconic figure in the history of the club.

“His recent playing time with us has been limited and when the opportunity to return to the Premier League with Burnley came along he was understandably keen to join them.

“Peter leaves with the best wishes of everyone at the club and will always be welcome back at the bet365 Stadium.”
