Here is a 2024 NFL draft pick-by-pick breakdown for the Philadelphia Eagles:

Round 1 (No. 22 overall) — Quinyon Mitchell, CB, Toledo: He’s got size (6-0, 195), blazing speed (4.33 40 time) and ball skills, two of his six interceptions over the past two seasons turned into pick-sixes. And he’ll tackle, unlike some Eagles DBs in 2023. But with starting CBs Darius Slay and James Bradberry both north of 30, this is a near-optimal intersection of need and value. Round 2 (40, from Bears through Commanders) — Cooper DeJean, CB, Iowa: A souped-up athlete and 2023 All-American who was named the Big Ten's top defensive back last season, DeJean can play pretty much anywhere in the secondary and can also help as a punt returner. He ran a 4.43 40 at a personal workout earlier this month, apparently nicely recovered from last November's broken leg. Could play a lot of slot and safety in Philly. Draft tracker

Round 3 (94, from 49ers) — Jalyx Hunt, LB, Houston Christian: Athletic, small school pass-rushing prospect who can marinate behind Bryce Huff. The Southland Conference defensive player of the year in 2023 had 13½ sacks over two years. Draft tracker

Round 4 (127, from Texans) — Will Shipley, RB, Clemson: Philadelphia suddenly has a crowded running back room with Shipley, Saquon Barkley, and Kenneth Gainwell. He's a weapon in both the run and pass game and made first-team All-ACC at three different spots: running back, all-purpose, and specialist. His speed and urgency with the ball overcome average size and he could become an asset in case Barkley goes down with injury. Draft tracker

Round 5 (152, from Seahawks through Commanders) — Ainias Smith, WR, Texas A&M: The Eagles look to plug a hole at slot receiver with the small but twitchy Smith here. His production over five years in College Station isn't impressive but he excelled in the return game. He'll likely be a contributor in that role as a rookie but his lack of size and smaller catch radius may limit his long-term production. Draft tracker

Round 5 (155, from Steelers through Rams and Panthers and Colts) — Jeremiah Trotter Jr., LB, Clemson: Trotter's IQ, body control, and quickness made him a tackling machine for the Tigers. He's one of the many prospects with an NFL father in this year's class. Unfortunately, this Trotter's not ready-made for the modern NFL. His lack of length and speed in coverage could be a liability despite his gaudy tackling numbers.  Draft tracker

Round 5 (172, compensatory selection) — Trevor Keegan, G, Michigan: Keegan's ideal size for guard is undone by his average athleticism. His experience and physicality will help at the NFL level but the Eagles could've found players with higher upside on the board at this spot. Draft tracker

Round 6 (185, from Jets) — Johnny Wilson, WR, Florida State: Wilson's imposing size (6-6, 231 pounds) makes him a winner on 50/50 balls and a wide receiver archetype the Eagles don't currently have on the roster. Is he ultimately a tight end? Maybe, considering his lack of separation and unreliable route running, but he's a player worth developing. Draft tracker

Round 6 (190, from Saints through Packers and Jets) — Dylan McMahon, C, NC State: McMahon's mix of experience (44 starts across right guard, center, and left guard) as well as his solid technique and efficient body control make for a great backup on the interior. He doesn't have the size or athleticism to hold up as a starter at guard but he could last at center. Draft tracker
