Tennis star Rafael Nadal and his new bride Mery Perelló have released pictures from their wedding over the weekend.

The couple, who have been together for 14 years, tied the knot at La Fortaleza castle in Majorca, Spain.

Born Maria Francisca Perelló and also known as Xisca, the bride wore a haute couture wedding dress by Spanish fashion designer Rosa Clará, featuring long sleeves, a lace bodice and a jewel neckline.

The 19-time Grand Slam winner wore a grey suit, with a matching grey tie and black shoes.

The photographs show the couple embracing one another as they stand against the stunning blue backdrop of the Badia de Pollença.

The pair have since been inundated with congratulatory messages on social media.

“Congratulations to the happy couple,” tweeted the ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) Tour.

“Wishing @RafaelNadal and Xisca the most wonderful day and the rest of their lives together!” former professional tennis player Boris Becker wrote.

Fashion designer Clará shared a video on Instagram detailing how Perelló’s wedding gown was constructed.

“I feel so fortunate to be the designer of Mery’s dress for her wedding to Rafa Nadal,” she said. “The connection between Mery and me was immediate – as well as with her mother, and Rafa’s mother and sister – for whom we also designed dresses for the big day.”

Perelló’s dress was created using Art Deco-inspired French lace, which was decorated with flower motifs and embellished with intricate microbeads.

The ballgown-style skirt was made using silk crepe and featured a detachable train.
