Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been left out of Arsenal’s mid-season trip to Dubai as the club attempt to offload him before the transfer window shuts.

Aubameyang has been informed he must remain in London and continue to train on his own, even though Jack Wilshere, who is not contracted to the club, is expected to travel with Arsenal to Dubai.

Gabon international Aubameyang remains resolute in his determination that he will not be forced to Saudi Arabia by the Premier League club, who must now consider loan offers from European clubs.

But Aubameyang’s value will plummet even further now Arsenal have left him out of the Dubai trip, meaning the club are unlikely to receive a loan fee and may have to part fund his wages that are worth up to £350,000-a-week.

Aubameyang is understood to be shocked by the severity of the punishment he has received from head coach Mikel Arteta for arriving back a day late from visiting his mother in December.

Arteta dropped Aubameyang, stripped him of the captaincy, ordered him to train on his own and has now left him off the trip to Dubai, despite the fact Arsenal have scored just one goal in their last five games.

Confirmation of the decision to leave Aubameyang in London came after Arteta flew to Denver to discuss Arsenal’s striker situation with owner Stan Kroenke.

Top of Arteta’s agenda is believed to have been how much Arsenal are willing to spend on a new striker in the final days of the window after Juventus jumped ahead of the Arsenal in the race for Fiorentina star Dusan Vlahovic.

Arteta and Arsenal could also face disappointment over Alexander Isak, who is believed to hold reservations over moving to north London this month and whose club Real Sociedad would want his £76million release clause paid immediately and in full.

Arsenal have also been linked with Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who Everton would value at well over £50m, and Arteta made the trip to Denver for face-to-face talks with Kroenke over the size of his budget.

Juventus have made a bid of £62m for Vlahovic and the Serbian is now expected to move to Turin, leaving Arsenal to look elsewhere.

Arteta and Kroenke also discussed Aubameyang’s situation, with the 32-year-old’s European options decreasing. Juve have moved for Vlahovic, Sevilla are taking Anthony Martial on loan instead, and Barcelona could move for Alvaro Morata.

That would still leave Paris Saint-Germain, Marseille and AC Milan in the hunt for Aubameyang.

Arteta watched Colorado Avalanche beat Chicago Blackhawks at a National League hockey game with Kroenke on Monday night and the Spaniard will travel on to Dubai for the Arsenal training camp that Aubameyang will not be part of.
