The popular Show and Tell event is moving this month, after its success in May.

Following the success at Bitts Park, Carlisle on Sunday, May 19, the cycling-focused event is switching locations to the Harraby Cycle Circuit.

The event is set for this Sunday, July 7.

Organised by Carlisle Matters in collaboration with Cumberland Council, the public are invited to the Cycle Circuit from 1pm to 4pm for an afternoon full of all things cycling.

Several organisations from the area will be making an appearance.

These include the Carlisle Junior Tri-Club who will be offering people the chance to try cycling on the circuit, and to find out more about the sport of triathalon.

Other cycling related opportunities will also be available on the day for people to enjoy.

Mechanics from the Rebike Community Cycle Hub will be on hand carrying out free bike checks and adjustments as necessary.

This includes fixes to brakes, gears, wheels and saddles.

These same volunteers will also be running sessions promoting cycling for beginners, suitable for adults and children.

Lance Greenghalgh, secretary at Rebike Community Cycle Hub said: "Rebike's volunteer cycle mechanics are passionate about sharing their love of cycling and its many benefits for health and wellbeing.

"Rebike strive to help people of all ages and cycling abilities to get on a bike.

"Come and see us at the Show and Tell event have your bike checked and fixed, learn the easiest and quickest ways to learn to ride a bike, look after your bike and where to ride your bike on the city cycle trails."

The Harraby Cycle Circuit, which opened its doors in 2018, is a 6m wide, 1km long, purpose-built circuit.

It hosts a variety of routes to accommodate shorter laps and provides a safe, traffic-free environment allowing cyclists of all ages to learn and grow in their cycling skills.

Scottish BMX school will also attend the event, offering one-hour BMX workshops for children.

These beginners’ lessons are created and run by Reece Thompson, a seasoned BMX rider who said: "I am really excited to come down for this event and share our passion for flatland with the kids of Carlisle, we can guarantee every participant will learn at least one trick."

Attendees are reminded to bring their own bikes and helmets.
