PREMIER LEAGUE: Eagles fly into the top three

Goals by Yannick Bolasie and Yohan Cabaye guided Crystal Palace to within a point of Premier League leaders Manchester United

Two second-half goals saw Crystal Palace power into the Premier League's top three.

Yannick Bolasie headed Yohan Cabaye's cross past Baggies keeper Boaz Myhill on 68 minutes.

And two minutes from time Cabaye slotted home a penalty after Chris Brunt had brought down Wilfried Zaha.

It was no more than Palace deserved having completely dominated the match against a West Brom team who arrived at Selhurst Park not having conceding an away goal all season.

The pressure finally paid off for Alan Pardew's side when Cabaye's follow-up from a corner was met perfectly by Bolasie from very close range.

West Brom, managed by ex-Palace boss Tony Pulis, offered very little threat in attack and even took Saido Berahino off at half time and his side failed to register an effort on target until the 93rd minute.

And Palace gave themselves breathing space in the 89th minute when Brunt's rash challenge floored Zaha and Cabaye made no mistake from 12 yards.

Palace are now just a point behind leaders Manchester United and level on points with second-placed Manchester City.
