PREMIER LEAGUE: Sick Kompany taken off the bench just before kick off

Manchester City had to replace unwell skipper Vincent Kompany who had been named as a substitute minutes before their Premier League match against Spurs at White Hart Lane

Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany was replaced on the bench minutes before kick off at White Hart Lane.

The Belgium defender complained of feeling unwell and although he was named among the City subs, Tottenham allowed the Premier League leaders to draft in George Evans instead.

Kompany did sit on the bench during the game but was no longer part of the City matchday squad.
