Premier League: Spurs blitz Manchester United

A stunning second half blitz from Tottenham Hotspur has propelled them to a 3-0 win over Manchester United to keep the heat on Leicester City in the title race.

Premier League: Spurs blitz Manchester United

All three Tottenham goals came in a six minute spell between the 70th and 76 minutes and the result handed Spurs their first league win over United at White Hart Lane since 2001.

After a keenly contested first-half with both sides fighting for every ball, Dele Alli broke the deadlock as an early cross from Christian Eriksen on the left found the Englishman whose first-time shot beat David De Gea.

Four minutes later defender Toby Alderweireld doubled Spurs' advantage, rising highest to meet Erik Lamela's fine free kick.

And just two minutes after that Lamela finished off the win, his strong first-time shot meeting Danny Rose's cross and beat De Gea in goal.

The result means Leicester's lead is cut back to seven points and stretches Spurs' lead over Arsenal in third place to six points.

The result does confirm though that Leicester are guaranteed to be playing in next season's Champions League.
