The release of the Premier League fixtures for the new season is always an exciting day for many football fans. It heralds the start of a new season, giving supporters something to look forward to.

The new 2024/25 campaign may be two months away, but it will not stop fans getting excited about their team's seasons. That is despite this being an international summer, with the hope that Gareth Southgate can lead England to glory in Germany at Euro 2024.

But the fixtures for the 2024/25 Premier League season are now out and supporters can start planning their diaries, albeit in the knowledge that many matches will change due to television picks as the season goes on.

The opening weekend of the campaign sees Arsenal take on Wolverhampton Wanderers at home, with the big match on Sunday involving Chelsea - under new head coach Enzo Maresca - playing host to champions Manchester City - for whom Maresca was previously assistant to Pep Guardiola.

Tottenham, meanwhile, are in action on Monday Night Football as they travel to newly-promoted Leicester City. That will include a reunion with Harry Winks, who got his wish from the Premier League.

North London Derby matches between Arsenal and Spurs are the ones fans of both clubs tend to look for first and the Premier League have made a truly bizarre decision when it comes to the clash at the Emirates Stadium for 2024/25.

The two teams go head-to-head at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium early on in the season - the fourth weekend of the campaign on September 14. But the return at the Emirates Stadium is in a bizarre spot.

Arsenal vs Tottenham is scheduled to take place at 7.45pm on Tuesday, January 14! It is very strange scheduling from the Premier League for a massive game that normally is reserved for a Sunday afternoon slot.
